I am frequently asked why I feel the Fashion World is so attracted to Vintage. It is very exciting to take an "old piece" and recycle it into new concept. It makes a sophisticated and creative fashion statement. It brings back a sense of nostalgia with a present day point of view. So throw on an aunt's brooch with your long chain necklaces, or group your grandmother's bracelets with others from more recent decades. Oscar Night

It was the night of the 81st Annual Academy Awards and it might have just been the best ever! I loved how they used previous winners as presenters for the actors, and of course the fashions were fabulous. Not to mention the bling, lots of big necklaces, multiple bracelets, and long statement earrings.

Jelly Bellies

In the 40s, two major costume jewelry manufacturers, Coro and Trifari, launched a line of figural brooches called jelly bellies. A major part of these highly collectible pins, often in animal form, consists of a central lucite belly. They literally stop traffic when worn. I like to group them, when I wear mine.
