Fabulous Fakes showcases some of the most brilliant and beautiful vintage costume jewelry ever designed – from the Victorian era to the present. Curator and connoisseur Carole Tanenbaum invites you on an unforgettable tour of her private collection, complete with stunning photographs and an insider’s look at the history of costume jewelry.
I am happy to be collaborating with the Ryerson Image Centre in an exhibition titled Burn with Desire curated by Gaëlle Morel. The exhibition features iconic glamour and fashion photographs since the 1920 by influential photographers such as Edward Steichen and Annie Leibovitz. The first room of the exhibition is devoted to Marilyn Manroe. We presented a small selection of Fabulous Fakes from the 50's and early 60's which will remain for the duration of the exhibition.
I invite you to join us for a special sale of vintage jewelry from our collection on Monday, March 23rd, 2015 at 12-4pm and 5-8pm. 25% of the proceeds from the sale will support future initiatives at the Ryerson Image Centre.
At 6pm, I will talk about my collection of vintage costume jewelry in conjunction with the exhibition.
We, at CTVC, wish all of you a happy and healthy holiday season!
To add some fun to your festivities, feast your eyes on these delightful and highly collectible Christmas tree pins currently available at www.caroletanenbaum.com and shopAGO. I like to refer to these treasures as heritage trees to be passed down generation to generation.
